Project Specific Objectives (SO)

To set up a forum to capture the needs and expectations of stakeholders associated with plant protection, to better plan the development of improved plant protection strategies

To develop automated molecular platforms and IT/AI diagnostics for pests and pathogens

To develop and commercialize new Biological Control Agents and devise strategies to enhance their efficacy in the field

To develop, validate and bring to market pre-launch novel formulations of environmentally-friendly RNA-based pesticides

To develop, validate and bring to market pre-launch plant resistance inducers (RI), highly selective juvenoids, and repurposed Green Chemicals

To optimize agronomic and ecological practices to increase the resilience of agricultural production against biotic stresses and enhance sustainable IPM in fruit tree and vegetables crops

To integrate NextGenBioPest outcomes with existing methods into novel experimentally validated IPM concepts, and develop capacity for demonstrating their field efficiency

Analysis of social, economic and environmental aspects of next generation biopesticides, agroecological practice and novel IPM adoption
