PROSPER x ROTATES
🌱 Two projects, one mission: to diversify European agriculture for a resilient, sustainable future. We’re excited to highlight the synergy between ROTATES Project and PROSPER , two EU-funded projects working hand in hand to reshape the future of European food systems. 🔸 ROTATES Project focuses on promoting minor root and tuber crops — such as sweet potato, yam, cassava, and taro — to enhance agrobiodiversity, ecosystem services, and sustainable farming practices.


"Seeds of Resilience", the new Plant Growth Regulation Collection
PROSPER project partner Óscar Lorenzo Sánchez , from the University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca) , is serving as editor for the new Plant Growth Regulation Collection titled “Seeds of Resilience,” which explores advances in seed biology and seed priming research.He joins co-editors Barış Uzilday , Erna Karalija , and Chengliang Wang in this initiative. 📝 Researchers are invited to submit their manuscripts by 15 July 2026. PROSPER @ the REENFORCE Project
🎤 Eva Zavitsanou ( Smart Agro Hub ), as WP7 Leader, presented PROSPER at the REENFORCE Project Networking Event, sharing valuable insights about the project’s objectives, activities, and expected impact. She highlighted the project’s main goals and emphasized the important role that orphan legumes play in promoting sustainability. The networking event took place online on the 2nd of December. 🌱💡

PROSPER project’s partner, Sawsen Henchi, PhD student from the université de Sfax - University of Sfax (USS) actively participated in the Seventh Algerian–Tunisian Border Cooperation Forum, entitled “Higher Education in the Era of Digitalization: Knowledge, Innovation, and Economic Competitiveness.” organized by the University Mohamed Cherif Messaidia Souk Ahras in Algeria. PROSPER at the Food 2030 Networks Conference
🌱 Dr. Demosthenis Chachalis from the Benaki Phytopathological Institute (BPI) represented PROSPER at the FOOD 2030 Networks Conference on 2 December, showcasing the project on a poster. Over the past five years, BPI has led and contributed to Mediterranean projects such as ZeroParasitic Prima , PRIMA-Benefit-Med, and ARTs-Rice, developing participatory frameworks for agroecological innovation through Living Labs and Communities of Practice👩🌾👨🌾. PROSPER at the III Vitartis Innovation Forum
Carla Ijurko [ University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca) – Laboratorio de Innovación] presented PROSPER at the III Vitartis Innovation Forum in Valladolid, organised by the regional agrifood industry association, as part of a session highlighting innovation initiatives. PROSPER at the French Seed Biology Network Conference
From 12 to 14 November 2025 , Loïc Rajjou , Massimiliano Corso , Boris Collet, Fifonsi Fafa Amegnihe , and Tracy Plainchamp represented PROSPER at the French Seed Biology Network Conference in Nantes. Smart Agro Hub hosts PROSPER Partners for On-Site Planning
