📍 #PROSPER presented at the University of Constantine (Algeria) 🇩🇿
PROSPER presented through an in-presence workshop entitled "Women in science: Achievements and challenges", hosted at the University of Constantine 1 ( University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine ) (Algeria), strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange among partner institutions. This workshop is the result of a valuable joint effort involving the #PROSPER and #FORECAST projects, as well as the WE4LEAD project (Women's Empowerment For LEADership and Equity in Higher Education Institutions).
🔹 PROSPER Partners involved: Università di Pavia – Alma Balestrazzi, Macovei Anca
🌍 WE4LEAD is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project which aims to increase women’s access to the highest decision-making positions, contributing to a fully inclusive governance and management of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) around the Mediterranean by promoting a strong culture of gender equality.

We would like to warmly acknowledge and thank our colleague Aziz Benhamrouche (University of Constantine, Partner in FORECAST) for his essential support and cooperation in making this workshop possible.

PROSPER proudly joined the FORECAST project in supporting the Workshop “Women in Science: Achievements and Challenges”, organized on the occasion of the 👩🔬 International Day of Women & Girls in Science 2026.
The workshop, organized by Università di Pavia and MORE CoLAB - Laboratório Colaborativo Montanhas de Investigação, was hosted by the Territory Planning Research Center (CRAT) and the University of Constantine 1 ( University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine ) (Algeria), with the invaluable support of Aziz Benhamrouche and the Algerian FORECAST team.
The Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Constantine 1, Prof. Amira Leïla DIB, led the discussion together with Susana Araújo. Alma Balestrazzi and Macovei Anca Macovei shared their personal journeys - stories shaped by both achievements and challenges.
🎓 Imane Bakiri (University of Constantine 1) also presented WE4LEAD (Women’s Empowerment for Leadership and Equity in Higher Education Institutions), an ERASMUS Capacity Building project bringing together universities from the EU and the South Mediterranean region.
It was truly inspiring to exchange multicultural visions and experiences with women researchers in Constantine 🤝 - strengthening dialogue, solidarity, and leadership in science.
