5–7 October 2026 | Benaki Phytopathological Institute, Athens, Greece

From 5 to 7 October 2026, PROSPER partners from Greece and Tunisia had the opportunity to meet in person during the PRIMA SCALAM kick-off meeting, hosted at the Benaki Phytopathological Institute (BPI) in Athens, Greece.

The meeting brought together Bassem Khemakhem and Aroua Ammar from the University of Sfax (Tunisia), alongside Demosthenis Chachalis and Angeliki Petraki from BPI (Greece). The partners exchanged updates on PROSPER's progress, discussed upcoming activities, and explored opportunities to further strengthen collaboration between their institutions.

During the meeting, Angeliki Petraki also delivered a presentation introducing the PROSPER project, outlining its main objectives, ongoing activities, and vision for promoting the valorisation of underutilised legumes as a contribution to climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture.

Beyond the exchange of scientific knowledge and project updates, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to reinforce the connections between the Greek and Tunisian teams.

Face-to-face interactions remain an essential part of successful international research collaboration, encouraging open dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the development of new opportunities for joint activities.

Through meetings such as this, PROSPER continues to strengthen its international network and foster collaboration towards more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems. 🌱
