PROSPER was showcased at the scientific conference “Genetic Biotechnologies for a Nourishing and Sustainable Agricultural Future: Tunisia and Global Insights”, organized by ESTIDIMAH for sustainable development at the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Monastir, Tunisia.

Prof. Amine Elleuch (université de Sfax - University of Sfax (USS)) presented PROSPER as part of his talk entitled “Building on Fenugreek: A Systems Biology Approach to Orphan Legumes for Climate-Resilient Agriculture in the Mediterranean”.

The project attracted strong interest from participating organizations and generated insightful discussions on its potential impact.

It is worth noting that the université de Sfax - University of Sfax (USS) is actively contributing to several Mediterranean research initiatives, including the previous PRIMA project, BENEFIT-Med and the recent FORECAST project, which focuses on the development of seed priming techniques to enhance orphan legumes growth and resilience in arid regions increasingly affected by climate change.

Building on this experience, the #PROSPER project focuses on enhancing the adaptability of orphan legumes to challenging environmental conditions, with Tunisia selected as a representative case study of regions experiencing severe climate stress.
