On October 2–3, the PROSPER consortium gathered in Pavia, Italy, to launch the project and discuss the heart of its mission: Promoting Resilient Orphan Legumes for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security.
It was an inspiring two days filled with presentations, in-depth discussions, and strategic planning for the next steps of this ambitious initiative.
The PROSPER Horizon EU project marks the beginning of a four-year journey dedicated to innovation, research, and collaboration around orphan legumes—crops with the potential to make European agriculture more resilient and sustainable.
The main goal of PROSPER is to transform European agriculture by promoting highly resilient “orphan” legumes—often-overlooked crops with great potential to address future climate and food challenges. The project encourages sustainable and innovative practices tailored to different agricultural contexts.
Over two days, 27 partners from 13 countries came together to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and lay the foundations for strong cooperation. This kickoff event set the tone for a shared journey that promises to be more than a collaboration—it is genuine cooperation within an exceptional team.

Stay tuned for upcoming news and updates from the PROSPER Project as we work together toward a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future.
